The winner of the IBF super middleweight elimination match between Osleys Iglesias and Vladimir Shishkin on Thursday night will become a mandatory challenger for Canelo Alvarez or Terence Crawford.

Scull wasn’t the least bit aggressive against Shishkin, either, in an IBF 168-pound championship match the reluctant Cuban controversially won by unanimous decision on October 19 in Berlin.

The two headline an Eye of The Tiger show at Montreal Casino, an IBF 168-pound eliminator that will be broadcast on at 6:30 p.m. ET.

French-Canadian company Eye of The Tiger has announced much of its undercard for the show headlined by super middleweights Osleys Iglesias and Vladimir Shishkin on September 5 in Montreal.

Iglesias (13-0, 12 KOs), rated at No. 3 by The Ring at super middleweight, was a talented amateur in his native Cuba before turning professional in Germany in 2019.

Ranked No. 3 at 168-pounds by The Ring, Iglesias took to social media overnight with a message to share having worked up a sweat. The timing couldn't be more fitting, kicking off a busy month where more eyes will be on him. Translated from Spanish, the unbeaten super middleweight contender confirmed he'll return come September 4 in an IBF title eliminator.

"The date is an issue. We want July, they want it in September, so hopefully we can resolve that. If not, we're going to purse bids."

Iglesias promoter and Eye of the Tiger Management head Camille Estephan told The Ring on Friday that he’s negotiating a deal with Shishkin promoter Dmitriy Salita.
