MONTREAL –
Osleys Iglesias and
Vladimir Shishkin comfortably came in under the super middleweight limit at their weigh-in Wednesday.
Iglesias officially weighed 167.8 pounds, while Shishkin tipped the scales slightly lighter at 167.6, for
their 12-round, 168-pound IBF title eliminator fight Thursday night at Casino de Montreal.
Cuba’s Iglesias (13-0, 12 KOs) and Russia’s Shishkin (16-1, 10 KOs) will fight to become the IBF’s mandatory challenger for the winner of the
Canelo Alvarez-Terence Crawford fight September 13 at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.
Shishkin is ranked No. 2 by the IBF and Iglesias sits at No. 3. The No. 1 position is vacant. The Ring ranks Iglesias at No. 3 and Shishkin at No. 9 in its top 10.
Punchinggrace.com will stream Iglesias-Shishkin as the main event of a six-bout card. Undercard coverage is set to start at 6:30 p.m. ET.
Lightweights Dzmitry Asanau and Laid Douadi also made weight for their 10-round contest, which will serve as the co-feature. Asanau (10-0, 4 KOs) weighed in at 134.9, while France’s Douadi (27-0-1, 3 KOs), who came in exactly at the lightweight limit of 135.
