David “El Monstro” Benavidez continued his rise to the top with a bruising unanimous decision victory over Cuba's Morrell on Saturday night from T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. With the victory, Benavidez retains his Interim WBC Light Heavyweight Title and picks up the WBA Light Heavyweight Title.

The next month promises to be an interesting and likely exciting time for the light heavyweight division. Former two-time world title challenger Anthony Yarde (26-3, 24 knockouts), rated at No. 4 by The Ring at light heavyweight, will be an interesting bystander.
