Stephen Fulton believes he's the best version of himself and that spells trouble for defending 130-pound champion O'Shaquie Foster on October 25, when the two WBC beltholders clash in the co-feature of a PBC pay-per-view topped by Sebastian Fundora-Kei...
LOS ANGELES – Stephen Fulton has finally gotten his groove back, and declares that development is not a good sign for O'Shaquie Foster.
Fulton, a WBC 126-pound titleholder, is stepping up a weight class to challenge the WBC 130-pound champion Foster on October 25 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
The fight will co-headline a PBC on Prime Video pay-per-view card topped by the WBC junior middleweight title bout between Sebastian Fundora and Keith Thurman.
For the former unified 122-pound champion Fulton (23-1, 8 KOs), he’s finally steadied himself after suffering the lone loss of his career by knockout against Naoya Inoue two summers ago.
“I’m not really focused on the title of becoming a three-division champion,” Fulton said during a recent press conference. “I’m motivated by fighting other champions. That’s why I moved up in weight. But it will feel great to accomplish my goals.
“I’m a big boy, and I feel good at the weight. I feel really good. I’m a dog. I don’t care how big people are. I’ve fought the biggest and strongest.”
After getting stopped by Inoue, Fulton returned in September 2024 but looked shaky in a tune-up fight against Carlos Castro. Fulton got dropped and was fortunate to sneak away with a 10-round split decision win.
But the Philly fighter proved he’s not a shell of himself, beating Brandon Figueroa during their February 1 rematch easier than he did when they originally met in 2021.
Now, Fulton is looking to carry the momentum against The Ring's No. 1-rated junior lightweight in Foster (23-3, 12 KOs).
“I don’t really care what people or other fighters have to say,” Fulton continued. “I’m not going anywhere … I don’t get phased by size or what people say. My experience talks and my heart talks. I don’t have to put on a facade.
“I’m a three-division world champion on October 25. I don’t have to say much. That’s my end goal and I’m gonna accomplish it.”
