Yankiel Rivera, Angelino Cordova ready to headline at Caribe Royale
ORLANDO, Florida — The stage is set for a pair of title fights at Caribe Royale on Saturday night.
Yankiel Rivera and Angelino Cordova made weight for their interim WBA title fight in the main event of a Most Valuable Promotions card on DAZN.
Rivera of Bayamon, Puerto Rico, is the No. 1 contender by the WBA and is making his debut under the MVP banner. Rivera weighed in at 111.6 pounds, while Cordova tipped the scale at 111.4.
Cordova is ranked No. 2. The winner will be in line to face newly crowned WBA and WBC flyweight champion Ricardo Sandoval.
Yoenis Tellez and Abass Baraou also made weight for their interim WBA junior middleweight title fight. Tellez, the reigning interim WBA champion, weighed in at 153.8. Baraou stepped on the scales at 153.4.
