Fast-rising Dominican featherweight Yan "Dangerous" Santana has inked a long-term co-promotional contract with Top Rank, who will work with Miguel Cotto Promotions and H2 Entertainment to guide the 25-year-old knockout puncher's career.
Santana goes for win number 14 in a 10-rounder against an opponent to be named on Saturday, March 29, as part of the Mikaela Mayer-Sandy Ryan II undercard at Bleaulive Theater at Fontainebleau Las Vegas.
"Yan Santana is a sensational talent who is well on his way to becoming a dominant presence in the featherweight division and beyond," said Top Rank Chairman Bob Arum. "I look forward to working with Miguel Cotto and his team to help guide Yan to the championship level. He has everything it takes to become a Dominican boxing legend."
Santana said, "I am grateful to God and my team for giving me the opportunity to show my talent to the world. I have what it takes to become a world champion. Soon, everyone will know who 'Dangerous' Santana is."
"Yan Santana is a special fighter. Since we discovered him in 2022, we have not doubted his abilities and the great potential he has to become a world champion," said Hector H. Soto, President of Miguel Cotto Promotions. "Without a doubt, he is the most important prospect in the Dominican Republic, and now our alliance with Top Rank makes him one of the most important prospects in the featherweight division."
Santana (13-0, 12 KOs) turned pro in September 2021 and soon became a knockout dynamo, notching six stoppages in his homeland in less than 14 months. He spent 2023 and early 2024 fighting on Miguel Cotto Promotions cards in Puerto Rico, securing five more KO victories in four rounds or less. Santana made his Top Rank on ESPN debut last June, knocking down Colombian veteran Brandon Valdes in the opening round en route to a 10-round unanimous decision. He returned in November and knocked out former world title challenger Eduardo Baez in the fourth round.
