Willy Hutchinson Opens Up on London Life, Reveals He is 'Hunting' Anthony Yarde
Willy Hutchinson has revealed his move to London has been emotionally challenging but says he is now far better placed to ‘hunt down’ fellow Queensberry light-heavyweight Anthony Yarde.

The Hutch Train was derailed by Joshua Buatsi in September, when he was dropped twice en route to a split decision defeat at Wembley Stadium on the Riyadh Season card at the national stadium.

The 26-year-old had been scheduled to face Zach Parker in his comeback fight in February but a shoulder injury 10 days out meant Hutchinson had to go back to the drawing board.

He has now upped sticks to east London to train under Shane McGuigan at his bustling Leyton gym and has moved into a hotel 200 yards from the building. He has already turned in nearly two months of hard training and Hutchinson says he is now just waiting for a fight date from Frank Warren, with a ‘late June-early July’ outing expected.

But the 18-2 (13) switch-hitter has been so busy training, that he has not had time to sort out any permanent digs which has left him out of pocket and in need of a solution.

“I’m currently living in a hotel but I need to get something more permanent sorted. It has made me an emotional wreck if I’m honest with you,” said the man originally from Carstairs, Scotland.

“I’ll put up with it for now but I want to get it sorted. It’s only 200 yards away from the gym so I don’t need much more. I train here and walk back in seconds. It’s a rough old area though and the only place I feel safe is in my hotel and the gym! So where do I go? It costs a fortune.

“I have been in Spain for the last three years by myself which sent me insane so this is still an upgrade. I was always in camp by myself. I was in a nice apartment over there but I just needed a change from that routine. I’ve done the best thing for my career but now I’m in hard training I just can’t be bothered to look for places to live. I just want to train, eat, sleep, repeat. Those are the only things I’m interested in.

“Me and my wife are here so at least I’ve got someone to talk to. In Spain I was by myself so this is 100 times better than that. But once I get my fight date, for the five or six weeks before that, I’ll be by myself again so I can get in that zone.”

Hutchinson is currently The Ring’s No.9 ranked light-heavyweight, while the WBC have him eighth and he is currently No.10 with the WBO. He knows he is only one win away from a world title shot and has a number of British 175lbers in his sights.

“I would obviously love the rematch with Buatsi and that fight with Parker is still there and could happen next,” he says.

“Anthony Yarde too. In the next six months that’s who I’m looking to get. I would have it now, in my next fight but he has a fight already in Lyndon Arthur. But that is who I’m looking to hunt down and get. But now I’m in his city, not far away from him, so let’s see.

”I believe within 12 months I’ll be world champion. As long as I keep putting in hard work and doing what’s right it will happen. I think I’ll be out in June or July. Frank is my man and I know he will deliver. They’ve got the June 7 Fabio Wardley card in Ipswich or there will be plenty after that too. I’ll leave it to Frank, Shane and my manager Shelly Finkel - all I need to do is keep putting in the hard work.”
