Richardson Hitchins Willing To Go To 147 For Manny Pacquiao
Manny Pacquiao? Back? At 46? Richardson Hitchins couldn’t believe it.

After rubbing his eyes and coming to grips with it, Hitchins will watch as the former eight-division champ returns to the ring July 19 against Mario Barrios.

If he wins, Pacquiao (62-8-2, 39 KOs) will have to find a spot in his overflowing trophy room for yet another world title. But even if he does get it done, Hitchins won’t be wowed by what took place. Barrios may have a title attached to his name, but Hitchins doesn’t think much of him.

“I don’t know if he’s picking and choosing with Barrios, but Barrios isn’t that good, to be honest,” Hitchins told a group of reporters recently.

Hitchins (19-0, 7 KOs) doesn’t want Pacquiao to steal too much of his spotlight. Come June 14, he’ll make his own return when he takes on George Kambosos Jr. in New York’s Madison Square Garden.

He won't get into the hypotheticals on if he’ll lose. Coming up short hasn’t come across his mind at any point, and that won’t change now. In fact, to a certain degree, Hitchins is looking past Kambosos.

A win over the former unified lightweight champ will give him a bit more credibility and, of course, take his bank account to another level, but imagine what a fight against Pacquiao would bring?

Hitchins wants it all. He wants the fame, the money, the attention and the glory. Who knows how long Pacquiao will stick around? This could be a one-off, but if he decides to prolong his stay Hitchins would love the chance to jump in there with him.

“I’ll come to 47,” Hitchins continued. “If Pacquiao really wants to test himself against one of the best young fighters in the sport, he can call me.”
