Topps announces first boxing card set since 1951
Trading card collectors, rejoice.

Topps has announced it will distribute its first boxing card set since 1951 with Topps Chrome Boxing featuring fighters from Top Rank, Golden Boy, Matchroom and Most Valuable Promotions.

Champions, contenders, prospects and legends are set to be featured across a variety of parallels, autographs, 1/1 cards, case hit inserts and a 100-card base set. Pre-order begins Aug. 11, and a complete checklist and odds will be released soon. Packs will feature eight cards each and there will be 12 packs per box.

Topps released a gallery Thursday previewing the cards.

Fighters included Mike Tyson, Floyd Mayweather Jr., Oscar De La Hoya, Sugar Ray Leonard, Thomas Hearns, Dmitry Bivol, Tyson Fury, Ryan Garcia, Jake Paul, Mikaela Mayer and Skye Nicolson.

"This is the first boxing release in history to officially be licensed by multiple boxing promotions," a Topps spokesperson told The Ring. "Historically, individual promotions would have their own card deals. This is Topps’ first boxing product since 1951. We have had Topps Now, but not a hobby product."
