Anyone can be beaten. Well, unless your name is Oleksandr Usyk.

Shakur Stevenson knows how quickly and easily a fight can change. One punch in the right spot is essentially all it takes.

Usyk though, has been in the ring with fighters who are more than capable of punching through a brick wall. But ultimately, he's shown the sort of chin and defensive abilities that have him near the top of virtually every pound-for-pound list.

The Ring’s heavyweight titlist and current unified champion may have wiped out most of his competition but still has many top contenders to knock off. Although they all believe in their chances to kick Usyk off his throne, from Stevenson’s point of view, no one may be capable of doing that.

“I think it may be impossible to beat Usyk right now,” Stevenson told Seconds Out.

Stevenson enjoys watching big men swap fists but nowadays, his only concern has been on himself. On February 22nd, Stevenson (22-0, 10 KOs) will head to Saudi Arabia for a showdown against Floyd Schofield (18-0, 12 KOs).

Filled with hubris and self-belief, the 22-year-old challenger Schofield has promised all who will listen that he’ll get the job done. Words, however, are just words. The Ring’s No. 3 ranked lightweight is all about action.

With an early head start to his 2025, the 2016 Olympic silver medalist hopes to be a lot more active this year. He’s also optimistic that matchups against WBA champion Gervonta Davis, IBF titleholder Vasiliy Lomachenko and No. 1-ranked contender William Zepeda will become a reality.

First things first though, Schofield is in the way.

Stevenson won’t spend too much time overthinking things. He’s put in the work during an arduous training camp and over the course of his career to feel fully confident in his abilities. All he needs to do, is simple.

“Just go in there and be myself.”
