Stephanie Han Retains WBA 135-Pound Title vs. Holly Holm On Serrano-Tellez Card
For the first time in nearly five years, Amanda Serrano stepped back into the squared circle on her home island of Puerto Rico.

Ring and WBA, WBO featherweight champion Serrano put her 126-pound world titles on the line against undefeated short-notice foe Reina Tellez Saturday at Coliseo Roberto Clemente in San Juan, Puerto Rico, topping MVP's latest show exclusively live on DAZN.

Serrano (48-4, 31 KOs) secured a gritty but comfortable points win to inflict a career-first defeat for Tellez (13-1-1, 5 KOs), who made a significant jump in competition here and seized an opportunity to impress after original opponent Erika Cruz's atypical drug finding.

In the evening's co-main event bout, Stephanie Han successfully defended her WBA lightweight title against Holly Holm, winning a seven-round technical decision during a scheduled 10-round fight with three-minute rounds.

In the chief prelim bout, former junior flyweight champion Jonathan Gonzalez (28-4-1, 14 KOs) upset previously-unbeaten Yankiel Rivera to win the interim WBA flyweight title.

In other prelims, Puerto Rican prospect Jan Paul Rivera earned a hard-fought decision victory over Alfredo Cruz, while Henry Lebron scored a stoppage to snap his 13-month layoff in style. Here are the results for the undercard bouts at Coliseo Roberto Clemente.

Han outpoints Holm to retain WBA title

Stephanie Han def. Holly Holm by technical unanimous decision after seven rounds (69-65, 69-64, 68-65)

Throughout the build-up to their fight, Han didn’t hesitate to share her adoration for Holm.

That level of respect didn’t interfere with Han’s performance in the ring, as she retained her WBA lightweight title. The fight ended in the middle of the seventh round because of an accidental clash of heads that resulted in Han suffering a cut, which forced the ringside doctor to stop the action.

Both fighters went to throw a punch and accidentally clashed heads. Han (12-0, 3 KOs) got the worst of it, as she suffered a cut along her hairline that immediately started bleeding down the left side of her face and into her eye. Referee Luis Pabon immediately called a halt to the action so the ringside doctor could check the cut.

Before the fight was stopped, Han’s ability to get in and out of range and counter Holm allowed her to build an early lead. Han consistently made Holm miss and also found success punching with the former three-division champion.

Han outlanded Holm 87 to 29. After the fight, both of them called for a rematch.

"It's not the way I wanted [it], but a win is a win," Han said. "I want to thank you, Holly. You're an absolute legend. If you want a rematch, let's do it in El Paso or Albuquerque. I would love the opportunity to fight you again -- the total distance of the rounds. I have nothing but respect for you. You're an absolute legend.

"[Holm is] a freaking athlete. She's a freak of nature, has nothing to be ashamed of. She is doing things that only people could dream of."

Holm meanwhile, was frustrated with the ending: "Not being able to finish it is the hardest part. [Han] had a lot of volume, and I was kind of waiting for those later rounds to kind of take over, and I can't do that when things can happen. I didn’t want it to end like that."

PRELIMS

Jonathan Gonzalez (29-4-1, 14 KOs) def. Yankiel Rivera (7-0-1, 3 KOs by unanimous decision (117-110, 116-111, 114-113)

Gonzalez set the tone early with a second-round knockdown and controlled the 12-round flyweight fight throughout in his upset victory over Rivera.

In the opening round of a matchup pitting two southpaws, Gonzalez rocked Rivera on multiple occasions with chopping left hands. In the second round, Gonzalez connected again with a hard left that sent Rivera to the canvas.

From there, Gonzalez largely fought with his back against the ropes and in the corner but landed the much bigger shots. Rivera stayed on the front foot and pressured Gonzalez, but he struggled to sustain much success. His only real adjustments were switching stances and fighting with more effort, which wasn't enough.

With the win, Gonzalez could be in line to face unified WBA and WBC 112-pound champion Ricardo Sandoval later this year.

Jan Paul Rivera (14-0, 7 KOs) def. Alfredo Cruz (10-4-1, 5 KOs) by majority decision (77-75, 77-75, 76-76)

Rivera used a late rally to survive a stiff test from Cruz in an eight-round featherweight bout.

After Rivera controlled the early rounds, Cruz used his range and footwork to close the gap in the middle rounds. With the fight seemingly still up for grabs heading to the final three rounds, Rivera put his foot on the gas and landed several big shots that swung the fight back in his favor.

Rivera, 24, of Salinas, Puerto Rico, is ranked No. 7 by the WBA and No. 12 by the WBO.

Henry Lebron (21-0, 11 KOs) def. Juan Tapia (14-5, 5 KOs) by seventh-round knockout

Lebron gradually picked up the pace and pressure as the fight progressed before Tapia’s corner stopped the fight late in the seventh round of a scheduled eight-round junior lightweight matchup.

Lebron, 28, was in his first fight since Dec. 7, 2024, when he defeated Christopher Diaz-Velez by unanimous decision. The Aguadilla, Puerto Rico, native is ranked No. 9 by the WBA and No. 13 by the WBO.

Chris Echevarria (10-1, 4 KOs) def. Gabriel Bernardi (7-4, 3 KOs) by unanimous decision (57-56, 57-56, 57-56), junior featherweights.

Alex Chaparro (7-0, 6 KOs) def. Augusto Leal (3-1, 1 KO) by unanimous decision (60-54, 60-54, 58-56), middleweights.

Elise Soto (10-0, 9 KOs) def. Liliana Martinez (25-24, 16 KOs) by second-round KO, junior lightweights.

Abner Figueroa (8-0, 1 KO) def. Edwin Rodriguez (12-10-3, 5 KOs) by unanimous decision (60-54, 58-56, 58-56), bantamweights.

Yandiel Lozano (3-0) def. Johniel Ramos Cotto (3-3, 1 KO) by unanimous decision (60-54, 58-56, 58-56), junior lightweights.

Caleb Tirado (1-0, 1 KO) def. Justin Hill (0-1) by second-round TKO, bantamweights.
