More changes have been made in
The Ring's latest ratings — and there are new entries in three different divisions.
Last weekend we saw the return of Josh Taylor,
who lost his comeback fight with Ekow Essuman by unanimous decision in Glasgow, Scotland. However, there were starring performances from heavyweight Moses Itauma and featherweight contender Nathaniel Collins, who dispatched their respective opponents in style on the undercard.
On Friday night, a new IBF 115-pound champion was crowned as
Willibaldo Garcia eked out a split decision victory over Rene Calixto Bibiano in their rematch.
Angelo Leo was also in action as he travelled to Japan to defend his IBF featherweight title against Tomoki Kameda,
winning by majority decision.
On the undercard of Leo-Kameda, Ginjiro Shigeoka lost his IBF strawweight title scrap with Pedro Taduran by split decision. The fight, however, has been marred by the news that Shigeoka, who collapsed in the ring after the result was read out, is unconscious in hospital after suffering an acute subdural hematoma.
Shigeoka underwent brain surgery and retirement has been enforced upon him by the Japanese Boxing Commission (JBC).
