The undercard for the heavyweight fight between
Jake Paul and
Anthony Joshua on December 19 was announced on Friday.
The matchups will include several known fights and participants who were originally slated for the November 14 show featuring Paul and
Gervonta Davis before the event was cancelled after Davis faced new domestic assault allegations.
In the co-main event of the Most Valuable Promotions show set to be staged at the Kaseya Center in Miami on Netflix, unified 130-pound champion
Alycia Baumgardner (16-1, 7 KOs) defends her titles against
Leila Beaudoin (13-1, 2 KOs) over twelve, three-minute rounds.
Anderson Silva (3-2, 2 KOs boxing; 34-11, 22 KOs MMA) faces Tyron Woodley (0-2 boxing; 19-7-1, 7 KOs MMA) in a six-round cruiserweight clash to be contested at a catchweight of 195 pounds. Silva was originally supposed to face former MMA rival Chris Weidman, who withdrew due to injury. Woodley, who lost twice to Paul in 2021, now steps in for the opportunity in a matchup between former UFC champions.
Also set to be featured on the card is the fight between bantamweight champion
Cherneka “Sugar Neekz” Johnson (18-2, 8 KOs) against
Amanda Galle (12-0-1, 1 KO).
WBC strawweight champion
Yokasta Valle (33-3, 10 KOs) takes on
Yadira Bustillos (11-1, 2 KOs), welterweight prospect
Avious Griffin (17-1, 16 KOs) aims to return to the win column against
Justin Cardona (10-1, 5 KOs) following the first loss of his career in June, and two-time Brazilian Olympian Keno Marley will make his pro debut in a four-round cruiserweight fight against Diarra Davis Jr. (2-1, 1 KO).
Noticeably missing from the rescheduled show is the bout between WBA junior welterweight champion Gary Antuanne Russell and Andy Hiraoka. The fight originally landed on the November 14 show due to Davis and Russell’s affiliation with Premier Boxing Champions, but now it should be rescheduled at a later date.
A press conference will be held on Friday in Miami to announce the eight-round bout between Paul (12-1, 7 KOs) and the former two-time unified heavyweight champion Joshua (28-4, 25 KOs).
