LOS ANGELES – After four nail-biters in a row, WBC junior lightweight champion
O’Shaquie Foster is promising that he won't be cutting it close in his clash against
Stephen Fulton on October 25 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
“It’s gonna be domination. I’m gonna put on a show, and I’m gonna look good doing it,” Foster said during a recent press conference. “I’m coming to put on a dominant show. I know my opponent is gonna be ready, but we’re gonna be sending him back down – trust me.”
Foster is The Ring’s No. 1-rated fighter at 130 pounds, but his recent ride to the top of the division has been a rollercoaster.
Foster (23-3, 12 KOs) won the crown that he now carries in November by beating
Robson Conceicao in a rematch by split decision. Conceicao controversially took the title away from Foster in July of last year by split decision, as well. Foster first became the WBC 130-pound champion in February of last year with yet another split decision win, that time against
Abraham Nova.
The opportunity to become a world champion only became available after Foster authored a dramatic 12th-round knockout win against
Eduardo Hernandez in the final seconds of their October 2023 matchup. Foster was winning the fight, according to most obsevers, but was down big on two of the three cards.
“I’m gonna show everyone who’s doubting me,” Foster said. “For me, this is the biggest moment of my career. It’s the first time on pay-per-view, and I’m against my most accomplished opponent."
Fulton (23-1, 8 KOs), a former unified champion at 122 pounds, is currently the WBC featherweight titleholder and is stepping up a weight class in an attempt to become a three-division champion. Fulton scored the 126-pound title he now owns by again beating Brandon Figueroa in a February rematch.
“All I have to do is go make a statement against him and put on a show,” Foster said. “Once I show everyone what I’m really about, there won’t be any questions about me.”
Foster vs. Fulton will co-headline a PBC on
Prime Video pay-per-view card topped by the bout between
Sebastian Fundora and
Keith Thurman.
