O’Shaquie Foster is a two-time 130-pound champion, one of the best pure boxers around, and smack-dab in the middle of his prime.
Yet, even with everything he’s accomplished, he doesn’t believe the boxing world gives him the respect he deserves.
Foster (23-3, 12 KOs) knows he won’t be able to convince anyone with words. Instead, he can get the reverence he's looking for by fighting and beating the best. What the WBC junior lightweight beltholder needs is a dance partner to push him to his limit.
Luckily for him,
Stephen Fulton, his next opponent on October 25 at MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas has the ability to do just that.
“I feel like this is the perfect fight for me to show the world what I’m really about,” Foster told FightHub TV. “It’s perfect.”
Fulton, 31, will officially make his 130-pound debut. The WBC 126-pound champ, a two-division titleholder, is highly regarded within the boxing community and that is something Foster has noticed.
The Houston native has shown love to Fulton from a distance. That love and admiration increased tenfold following his last trip to the ring.
On February 1 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Fulton (23-1, 8 KOs) fought clean against Brandon Figueroa, resulting in a
unanimous decision win during their rematch and the start of his second world title reign.
Foster hasn’t boxed yet in 2025, but recaptured championship status following a close but clear 12-round points win over
Robson Conceicao on November 2.
Beating Conceicao, Abraham Nova, Rey Vargas and everyone else on his resume would be tabbed as good wins. However if victorious against Fulton, he believes that would represent a higher-quality victory.
“He got a big name and he got the accolades,” Foster said. “It’s perfect.”
