MVP re-signs lightweight Lucas Bahdi, adds 5 more female fighters to roster
Lucas Bahdi will fight for Jake Paul’s Most Valuable Promotions banner for the foreseeable future.

Bahdi (19-0, 15 KOs) has signed a multi-fight extension with MVP, it was announced Wednesday, ahead of his WBA title eliminator Aug. 23 against former champion Roger Gutierrez in Orlando, Florida.

The development for Bahdi arrives after an incredible 12-month run by the 31-year-old lightweight contender from Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada.

Bahdi viciously knocked out touted and undefeated prospect Ashton Sylve in July 2024 to make his mark in the division. After picking up a majority decision vs. then-undefeated Armando Casamonica in November, Bahdi signed a promotional deal with Paul.

Bahdi scored a win against a third consecutive undefeated opponent in March with a unanimous decision over Ryan James Racaza to set up his fight against Gutierrez.

“Prince” Bahdi is ranked No. 5 (WBA), No. 6 (IBF), No. 12(WBC) and No. 14 (WBO) at 135 pounds. The Ring has Bahdi rated No. 10.

“Lucas Bahdi shocked the world a year ago with the KO of the year and has been growing his skills and his brand ever since,” Paul and MVP CEO Nakisa Bidarian said in a shared statement. “Being undefeated and ranked in the top five globally speaks volumes about his talent and work ethic, and we are thrilled to continue being his corner."

In a parallel move, MVP also announced the signing of five more female fighters to its growing roster, headlined by 19-time United States amateur champion Sa’Rai Brown-El ahead of the 19-year-old’s pro debut.

MVP also signed WBA super flyweight champion Jasmine Artiga (13-0-1, 6 KOs), unified middleweight champion Desley Robinson (10-3, 3 KO), former unified light flyweight champion Yesica Nery Plata (30‑2, 3 KOs) and former WBA bantamweight champion Shannon Courtenay (9‑3, 3 KOs).

“Women’s boxing has never been stronger globally, and these signings further cement MVP’s commitment to continuing to invest and elevate the sport like no boxing promotional brand has before,” Paul and Bidarian said in a shared statement.
