Milan Prat-Jan Helin Set For EBU Junior Middleweight Title, Nov. 22
The EBU have announced that Milan Prat and Jan Helin will meet for the vacant European junior middleweight title in Clichy, a suburb of Paris, on November 22.

French promoter Europrom will host the show after brokering a deal with both. Prat will look to become a two-time EBU champion, while Helin heads into a career-biggest challenge thus far.

Prat (28-1, 22 KOs) represented France as an amateur before turning pro in October 2019. He caught the eye on his way up, winning national titles and stepping up to European level, clinching that title with a second-round knockout of Stephen Danyo in November 2022.

The 26-year-old was stopped two fights later though, by Germany's Slawa Spomer (TKO 10) in October 2023 but has since rebounded with eight consecutive victories.

Helin (18-4-1, 13 KOs) turned professional at 18 in his native Belgium. After an eight-fight win streak to start his career, he lost three out of four before regrouping by beating two of the men who previously scored victories over him.

After reeling off a five-fight win streak, he has earned this opportunity but will be a sizeable underdog.

The European title hasn't been contested at 154-pounds since June 2024, where Abass Baraou outpointed Macaulay McGowan in a 12-round points win. He was due to box Prat and had dates set for February, March and April but the fight never materialised.

Baraou (17-1, 9 KOs) moved on and won the interim WBA world title against Yoenis Tellez on August 23, after which he has subsequently been upgraded to full champion courtesy of then-full titleholder Terence Crawford departing the division.

The undercard will feature the debut of 2024 Olympic silver medalist Billal Bennama, as well as a super middleweight bout between Pierre Hubert Dibombe (23-2-1, 13 KOs) and Armen Yepremyan (17-4-3, 6 KOs).

Toulouse cruiserweight Karamba Kebe (1-0) faces Anthony Carpin (5-10-2, 2 KOs) while Benjamin Mendes Tani (8-1, 2 KOs) makes his first appearance of the year in a scheduled six-round contest against an opponent TBC.
