Cruiserweight prospect Lucas Roehrig has signed a promotional contract with Wasserman.
The 21-year-old, who is trained and managed by former WBA super-middleweight world champion George Groves, made his debut in December and has since moved to 4-0 (2).
All four of those outings have come under different promotional banners but it has now been announced that he has signed terms with Wasserman.
It means Roehrig will be working alongside Wasserman’s global head of boxing Kalle Sauerland, one of Groves’ former promoters, who was instrumental in the Londoner’s world title success and subsequent run to the final of the World Boxing Super Series in 2018.
It has also been announced that the first fight of Roehrig’s new deal will take place at the Newcastle Arena on Friday, June 6 on the card headlined by Josh Kelly’s fight with 24-1 Romanian Flavius Biea.
Roehrig, considered one of the most promising contenders in Britain at 200lbs, will face 7-3-2 Frenchman Sofiane Quoit, who has lost just once in his last seven.
‘Lights Out’ Roehrig, meanwhile, will be returning to the ring for the first time since his six-round UD against Missouri’s Brian Jones at Stamford Bridge on April 4.
