Lucas Bahdi-Ryan James Racaza Tops March 7 DAZN Show In Toronto
Most Valuable Promotions will take its talents north of the border.

The eleventh installment of Most Valuable Prospects will mark the series’ debut in Canada. Niagara Falls’ Lucas Bahdi is tabbed with headlining honors, as he will face the Philippines’ Ryan James Racaza atop a March 7 DAZN show from Great Canadian Casino Resort in Toronto, Canada.

In addition to loading up the card with rising talent from Canada, the location is significant to MVP co-founder Nakisa Bidarian—Jake Paul's longtime business partner.

“Given Nakisa's Toronto roots, this event is particularly meaningful, demonstrating our commitment to bringing world-class Canadian talent to the forefront and igniting a new era for boxing in Canada," Bidarian and Paul said in a joint statement. "Thank you to DAZN for making the event available globally for free, no subscription required, on both DAZN.com and the DAZN app.”

Bahdi (18-0, 15 KOs) appears on the circuit for the first time after back-to-back bouts on the undercard of shows headlined by MVP co-founder Jake Paul.

The run began with one of the biggest knockouts and upsets of 2024. Bahdi splashed H20 Sylve face-first onto the canvas in a sixth-round knockout last July 20 in Tampa, Florida. The win was followed by a ten-round, majority decision over Armando Casamonica on the undercard of the celebrated Jake Paul-Mike Tyson Netflix event last Nov. 15 in Arlington, Texas.

Next up is the third consecutive unbeaten opponent for the ‘Prince.’

"Headlining MVP’s first event in Canada… is a huge moment for me and the exceptional boxing talent emerging from my country,” said Bahdi. “I’m excited to kick off the new year alongside some of Canada’s brightest boxing talents at Most Valuable Prospects 11, add another highlight reel KO to my collection, and set the stage for what promises to be an unforgettable journey ahead."

Racaza (15-0, 11 KOs) fights for the first time outside of the Philippines. The clash with Bahdi also represents a massive step up in competition for the 27-year-old southpaw, in addition to coming off what will mark a 15-month inactive period.

Venue favorite Sara Bailey (5-0, 0 KOs) will appear in the co-feature. The Ring’s No. 3 junior flyweight risks her WBA title for the second time against a yet-to-be-named challenger.

“Thank you to United Boxing Promotions and Most Valuable Promotions for giving me the opportunity to defend my world title on such a big stage," Bailey exclaimed. "Bringing this level of boxing to Toronto is huge for the sport, and I’m grateful to MVP for putting a spotlight on women’s boxing and rising athletes with this event.

“Canada has a deep pool of talent and I’m looking forward to representing on Friday, March 7.”

The show will also include the next step in the career of Alexis “Chop Chop” Chapparo (3-0, 3 KOs), a Queens-based Boricua who is managed by record-setting seven-division champ Amanda Serrano (47-3-1, 31 KOs).

Also featured will be Tamm Thibeault (1-0, 0 KOs), the newest member of the MVP family. The 28-year-old Quebec native—who holds a Bachelor’s degree in Urban Studies—will face Sonya Dreiling (6-7-2, KOs) in a middleweight bout scheduled for six, three-minute rounds.
“MVP's expansion into Canada marks a significant new chapter for MVP and underscores our commitment to discovering and promoting boxing talent from every corner of the globe,” added Bidarian and Paul. “Lucas Bahdi had a remarkable year in 2024, and he's earned the opportunity to headline his first event, joined by our latest signee, Tamm Thibeault, alongside fellow standout Canadian talents like Sara Bailey, on Friday, March 7."
