In preliminaries, former champion and UFC star Holly Holm (34-2-3, 9 KOs) spoiled the perfect record of Yolanda Guadalupe Vega Ochoa (10-1, 1 KOs) of Mexico in the Albuquerque, New Mexico, resident’s return to boxing after more than a decade, winning a shutout decision in a 10-round junior welterweight bout. All three judges scored it 100-90.

- Rene Alvarado (35-16, 22 KOs) of Nicaragua upset Victor Morales (20-1-1, 10 KOs) of Vancouver, Washington, by a unanimous decision in a 10-round junior lightweight matchup. Scores: 99-91, 99-91 and 96-94.
- Joel Iriarte (8-0, 7 KOs) of Bakersfield, California, defeated Kevin Johnson (12-7, 8 KOs) of Las Vegas by a unanimous decision in an eight-round welterweight fight. Scores: 80-72, 79-73 and 78-74.
- John Ramirez (15-1, 9 KOs) of Los Angeles easily outpointed Josue Jesus Morales (33-19-5, 14 KOs) of Houston, Texas, in an eight-round junior bantamweight bout, winning a unanimous decision. Scores: 80-72, 80-72 and 79-73.
- Alexander Gueche (8-0, 5 KOs) of Long Beach, California, remained unbeaten, defeating Vincent Avina by a near-shutout decision in an eight-round featherweight fight. Scores: 80-72, 80-72 and 79-73.
- Joshua Edwards (3-0, 3 KOs) of Houston stopped fellow heavyweight Dominicc Hardy (6-4, 4 KOs) of Chicago, Illinois, in the first of a scheduled six-rounder.
