Welshman Taylor Bevan scored a decisive second-round stoppage victory over Szymon Kajda on the 'Before The Bell' undercard portion of George Liddard-Derrick Osaze at London's Indigo at the O2 Arena.
Bevan (2-0, 2 KOs) boxed for a round before unleashing a hellacious right uppercut on Kadja (1-1-1) in the second, flooring him in the process.
Kadja got to his feet but took another knee after Bevan ripped a big shot to the body. The referee let the Pole continue but Bevan finished things up against the ropes, with the referee calling a halt to the contest after 91 seconds in the second round.
Bevan said after: "I tried to work my way into the fight a little bit, when I did let my shots go they connected and it did the job. My amateur experience, having over 100 fights, all the quality sparring, gives me faith in my ability.
"The aim is to become world champion, that's the aim, step by step, let's make that happen."
The Commonwealth Games 2022 Silver-medallist hopes to back in action in March, according to his promoter Eddie Hearn.
Hearn said: "He can go all the way. There are 200 people for him here tonight, hopefully we can turn that into 20,000 one day, maybe at St. Mary's Stadium in Southampton [where Bevan grew up]."
Anthony Joshua's charge Jesse Brandon (5-0, 1 KO) competed in the penultimate 'Before The Bell' fight on DAZN, beating Jonatas Rodrigo Gomes de Oliveira (6-19, 5 KOs) on points in a fairly drab affair.
Brandon used his one-two to split open his opponent's guard on numerous occasions throughout, but was unable to push for the stoppage. 60-54 read the referee's scorecard.
Leli Buttigieg (7-0, 1 KO) proved to be the goods as he overcame a stern test in James Todd (4-5-2) earlier in the evening.
Todd is best-known for scoring a heavy knockdown over Buttigieg's fellow Matchroom prospect Aaron Bowen last year, before losing in the fifth round via TKO on the Sunny Edwards-Galal Yafai undercard.
Eddie Hearn noted earlier this week he wasn't too sure about the match-up; and he was right to be suspicious, as Todd came to fight, proving to be just the right test.
Buttigieg used his jab well for the first two rounds, negating much of the ferocity that came with Todd's front-foot approach, but was dragged into more of a fight in the middle rounds.
The Newham man came under immense pressure in the fourth round but also passed that test, getting the better of their exchanges on the inside.
In the final two rounds, Todd's tiredness began to show, as did a huge welt above his left eye. Buttigieg was able to show off his jab once again, using it to coast for the rest of the fight. The final score read 60-56 in favour of Buttigieg.
In the first bout of the night, Maiseyrose Courtney (8-1) put herself back in the win column with a comfortable 60-54 points victory over Jasmina Nad.
Courtney boxed to orders for the majority of the fight and even wobbled her opponent with a blistering left hook in the third round, but couldn't follow up with an attack deft enough to put Nad over.
The flyweight lost by unanimous decision to Jasmina Zapotoczna in her last fight but will be now looking to get back into title contention following tonight's victory.
