Lewis Edmondson, Archie Sharp Full Of Confidence, Promise KO Wins On March 1st Queensberry Show
Boxing fans will be treated to an intriguing slate of fights on March 1st when Ryan Garner and Salvador Jimenez headline a Queensberry Promotions show in Bournemouth, England.

The main event is a competitive one, with the likes of veteran heavyweight Joe Joyce (16-3, 15 KOs) and prospect Royston Barney-Smith (12-0, 6 KOs) set to compete on the undercard.

Elsewhere on the bill, Lewis Edmondson (10-0, 3 KOs) will defend his Commonwealth light-heavyweight title against Oluwatosin Kejawa (11-0, 5 KOs) and Archie Sharp (25-1, 9 KOs) is in action as he makes his lightweight debut against Liam Dillon (14-2-1, 3 KOs).

Edmondson picked up the British and Commonwealth straps in a tit-for-tat scrap against Dan Azeez last October, winning the bout via contentious majority decision.

Still brimming with confidence following that victory, Edmondson cut an assured figure when he came face-to-face with Nigerian Kejawa at Thursday's press conference.

The 29-year-old said: "He'll be hungry but I don't believe the best version of himself will be good enough. No chance.

"But there's always pressure, everyone we step in the ring with, whether it's a journeyman or a title fight, it's down to us to perform, no matter who we're fighting.

"I do everything better, you're going to see a devastating knockout. I don't believe anybody can beat me."

Kejawa simply replied: "If I couldn't handle the pressure then I wouldn't be here. You'll see on fight night."

Meanwhile, Sharp is hopeful he can bounce back from the first defeat of his career, which came at the hands of headliner Garner on the Joe Joyce-Derek Chisora card last summer.

The talk between Sharp and his opponent Dillon, who also lost to Garner in 2024, was much frostier than that of Edmondson and Kejawa's.

Sharp prefers to use his speed and technical boxing skills in the ring while Dillon is known for his bruising, come-forward style, something which the 135 pound debutant noted will be the difference.

Sharp said: "[Dillon] comes forward, he's strong and he's game, so this is perfect for myself, I want to show the best Archie Sharp.

"Liam Dillon is a punch bag, he's a strong punch bag, he comes forward but I can't miss the man. He's a walking punch bag.

"I'm gonna be the first man to stop you."

Dillon retorted: "That definitely ain't f---ing happening but good luck with that. This punch bag is gonna be punching you back, don't worry about that. Team punchbag for the win.

"He'll find out, I've never hit the deck; you got knocked down by a journeyman."

"I learnt a lot from my loss to Garner, we're working on my weaknesses and hopefully everyone sees an improved Liam on March 1st."

The knockdown Dillon referred to was the one Sharp suffered in the first round of his fight with Facundo Arce last year. Sharp went on to win the bout but was badly hurt.

"I got caught with a good shot, I was complacent, but I got up and won the rest of the fight easily," Sharp added. "I think I know what I need to do on March 1st."
