Omari Jones, Pat Brown Score Stoppage Wins On Pero-Thompson Undercard
ORLANDO, Fla. — A high-stakes heavyweight clash tops the docket Saturday night at Caribe Royale on DAZN .

Lenier Pero and Jordan Thompson will meet in a 10-round bout in the main event. Pero (12-0, 8 KOs) is the WBA’s No. 2-ranked heavyweight, while Thompson (15-1, 12 KOs) will be making his return to the ring after 25 months and fighting as a full-fledged heavyweight for the first time.

Also on the card is a trio of intriguing prospects. Omari Jones, an Orlando native and 2024 Olympic Bronze Medalist, faces Yusuph Metu in a six-round bout in the co-main event. Pat Brown will also face his most significant test to date against Felix Valera in a 10-round cruiserweight bout.

Nishant Dev, a 2024 Olympian, will take on Juan Carlos Campos Medina in a six-round bout. And, in a 10-round bout, Yoelvis Gomez fights Antraveous Ingram.

Here are the results from the Caribe Royale:

MAIN CARD

Omari Jones KO 3 Yusuph Metu
Four fights, four wins by stoppage or knockout. Jones (4-0, 4 KOs) capped off his first year as a pro with a third-round knockout. The knockout victory made Jones the first fighter to stop Metu (12-3, 9 KOs). Jones first dropped Metu at the end of the first round with a check hook. Jones continued to blister his overmatched opponent with big counter punches that visibly affected him. In the third round, Jones connected with a chopping right hand followed by a left hook. Metu shook his head as he walked toward a neutral corner. He took a knee and stayed down for the entirety of referee Massimo Montanini’s count. After the fight, Jones’ promoter, Matchroom Boxing CEO Eddie Hearn, said Jones will return in January in Las Vegas.

Pat Brown TKO 2 Felix Valera
Brown passed the toughest test of his career with ease, dropping Valera three times in a second-round stoppage victory. After a slow first round, Brown (5-0, 5 KOs) dropped Valera for the first time in the opening stages of the second round with a left hook to the temple. Almost as quickly as Valera (24-9, 21 KOs) rose to his feet, he was sent to the canvas again with another left hook from Brown. The final knockdown was from a right uppercut that planted Valera face-first onto the canvas. Alicia Collins waved off the contest without a count with 1:29 remaining in the second round.

Yoelvis Gomez vs. Antraveous Ingram, split draw
It was a high-pitched battle for 10 rounds, but when the dust settled, Gomez and Ingram fought to a split draw. Judge Efrain Lebron had it 96-94 Gomez, while James O’Connor had it 96-94 for Ingram, and David Dejonge scored the fight 95-95. Gomez (9-1-1, 7 KOs) connected with the bigger shots, while Ingram (12-0-1, 6 KOs) was on the front foot and more active, which paved the way for many close rounds and the draw.

Nishant Dev UD Juan Carlos Campos Medina
Dev (4-0, 2 KOs) picked apart Medina for six rounds and won 60-54 on all three judges’ scorecards in his unanimous decision victory over Medina (4-3, 3 KOs).

EARLIER FIGHTS
  • Carlos Jamil De Leon Castro (6-0, 5 KOs) def. Wilner Soto (24-22, 13 KOs)
  • Ryan Santiago (1-0, 1 KO) def. Mario Hernandez Betancourt (0-3) by second-round TKO
