Keyshawn Davis Vows To Punish Berinchyk, Claims Watermelons and Bananas Were Sent To Hotel Room
New York - A little pre-fight trash talk is fine. In fact, it’s something that Keyshawn Davis enjoys.

The former Olympic silver medalist is always amped-up but it doesn’t take much for him to go to another level. Denys Berinchyk though, according to Davis, took things too far.

For those who are unaware, fighters often share the same fight hotel for the entire week. It’s common for them to run across one another during that time. Both Davis and Berinchyk (19-0, 9 KOs) checked into their New York hotels a few days ago and got comfortable. On one particular day, Davis claims that he heard a loud knocking on his door. Once he answered, the 25-year-old stated that room service insisted on dropping off a box.

Davis, curiously, peeked inside. His jaw hit the ground once he did.

“This guy came to America to give me bananas and watermelons with a note on it,” said Davis to a group of reporters. “It’s unprofessional and I feel like it's racist. You just made this fight a little more personal. I got something for you.”

Team Berinchyk vehemently denied Davis’ allegations. The current WBO belt holder and The Ring’s No. 6 ranked lightweight said, through a translator, that he doesn’t understand or write English. So therefore it was impossible for him to do it. They would also go on to say that they have the utmost respect for Davis’ skills and accomplishments.

Those flattering words, however, didn’t placate Davis (12-0, 8 KOs) in the slightest. Steam seemingly emerged from his skull as Berinchyk continued to speak. At this point, what’s done is done and Davis explained that he didn’t want to hear it. Talk, at this stage, is cheap. Come fight night, he promises to make Team Berinchyk pay.

“It’s ok that y’all did it. I’m a whoop your a-- for it.”
