Nearly two months after making his return
, Jim Lampley will be back at ringside on Saturday.
Lampley will be the blow-by-blow commentator for the “Ring III” card that’s headlined
Edgar Berlanga vs.
Hamzah Sheeraz in a WBC super middleweight title eliminator at Louis Armstrong Stadium in Queens, New York, on DAZN PPV.
Lampley will call the main event and WBC lightweight champion
Shakur Stevenson vs.
William Zepeda alongside
Mike Coppinger and former light heavyweight champion Antonio Tarver.
“Sheeraz wants to go in and use his height and counterpunching ability against a guy who, in the past, has been a full-on attacker without nuance,” Lampley told
The Ring. “Does Berlanga now have other elements in his game to go with his straight-ahead power? If so, he might have advantages against Sheeraz. It's an interesting matchup because we're going to learn more about both of them.”
Todd Grisham, Sergio Mora and Coppinger will be on the call for the first two fights on the PPV portion of the card —
David Morrell vs.
Imam Khataev in a 10-round light heavyweight bout and WBC junior welterweight champion
Alberto Puello vs. Subriel Matias.Lampley, a 2015 International Boxing Hall of Famer, was the blow-by-blow commentator for HBO Boxing from 1988-2018. After a more than six-year hiatus, Lampley returned alongside Coppinger and Tarver for the Times Square card in New York that was headlined by Rolly Romero upsetting Ryan Garcia by unanimous decision on May 2.
