Jarrell Miller To Have Purse Withheld By BBBofC After Fabio Wardley Shove
Jarrell “Big Baby” Miller will see a portion of his purse withheld by the British Boxing Board of Control ahead of his June 7 fight in Ipswich, England with Fabio Wardley due to his “behavior” at Monday’s news conference, per an email obtained by The Ring.

Miller (26-1-2, 22 KOs) shoved Wardley in the face after he accused the undefeated Englishman of making a “diss song.”

“Please advise Mr. Miller's team that his future conduct is being monitored and any repeat of his behaviour at the press conference on 7th April 2025 in Ipswich may result in permission to box in the UK not being granted and disciplinary action and a fine is a possibility,” Robert Smith, the general secretary of the BBBoC, wrote in a Thursday letter sent to promoter Frank Warren.

“Therefore, it has been considered that a percentage of Mr. Miller's purse is lodged with the Board prior to the bout, of which I will advise accordingly.”

Miller, 36, is from Brooklyn and is licensed to fight in New York. Matthew Delaglio, the executive director of the New York commission, was copied on the email.

This is the latest action disciplinary action taken by the BBBoC. Last month, Chris Eubank Jr. was fined £100,000 after he slapped Conor Benn with an egg at a news conference for their April 26 clash at Tottenham.

Wardley (18-0-1, 17 KOs) is The Ring’s No. 9 heavyweight. The 30-year will face the most accomplished opponent of his career in Miller.

Miller is coming off a controversial draw with former heavyweight champion Andy Ruiz in August that most observers felt Miller won.

Miller’s lone career defeat is a 10th-round TKO loss to Daniel Dubois in December 2023.

Wardley will enter the ring on the heels of a career-best performance, a brutal first-round KO of Frazer Clarke in an October rematch in Riyadh. In the first meeting, Wardley and Clarke fought to a draw in a memorable heavyweight slugfest in March.

Miller has been suspended multiple times for performance-enhancing-drug use. In 2019, a drug ban scrapped his title shot against Anthony Joshua.
