Jaron Ennis Believes That His Performances Can Get Better and Better
Even if you wanted to, you’d have a difficult time pinpointing a time when Jaron Ennis looked sharper or meaner.

This past Saturday night at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, New Jersey, Eimantas Stanionis found himself on the wrong end of a brutal beating. But, prior to getting stopped in the sixth round, countless fans and prognosticators were convinced that Ennis would have his hands full…they were wrong.

Considering how effortless he made it look out there, some are assuming that Ennis had reached his peak. It’s a high one but his peak nonetheless.

It isn’t a bad opinion to have but it’s one that upsets the Philly star. Simply put, if you think that was impressive, just wait until the competition continues to get higher.

“You gotta see,” said Ennis to Chris Mannix when asked how many more levels he can reach. “When somebody’s better, it’s a different story.”

At the moment, the boxing world is his oyster. With The Ring, IBF, and WBA straps now fastened around his waist, Ennis (34-0, 30 KOs) is viewed as the top dog at 147 pounds. It’s a start but it’s far from his end goal.

Before it’s all said and done, Ennis wants to become a three-division undisputed champion. Along the way, he’ll find himself standing across the ring from countless great fighters. But while that may have some fighters nervous, Ennis isn’t unnerved.

The 27-year-old isn’t arrogant but he isn’t willing to downplay his own skills and abilities for anyone. Will his road to more world titles and fame be an easy one? Of course not. But does he believe he has the talent and mental capacity to go out there and get it done? You better believe it.

“Once I get that ball rolling and clicking and I get in that groove, it’s over.”
