Jake Paul: “Me And Gervonta Davis Were Scheduled To Fight”
Gervonta Davis always brings out a diverse and star-studded crowd when he fights. So, it wasn’t surprising to see several actors, ball players, and even a few politicians sprinkled in attendance this past March. Even when Jake Paul made his way to his ringside seat, no one thought twice. Apparently, however, he wasn’t being a fan on that night.

In the main event slot, Davis took on Lamont Roach. And while he had his moments, Roach had far more success than Davis’ usual opponents. Once the three judges sitting ringside scored it a draw, the Baltimore native kept quiet on his future plans.

According to Davis, his next opponent was in attendance. That, nevertheless, didn’t help anyone decipher whom he was talking about. Shakur Stevenson was in the building, Demetrius Andrade was lurking in the background, and Caleb Plant was also amongst a long list of fighters taking in the sights.

None of those aforementioned names, however, were who Davis was talking about. Finally, after months of guessing, Paul recently stepped up and revealed that Davis’ next foe was allegedly him.

“Me and Gervonta were scheduled to fight for sure,” said Paul to a group of reporters.

A hypothetical matchup between Paul and Davis would generate a ton of money but it’s a bit nonsensical. Davis is considerably smaller, fighting at 135 pounds, while Paul is a heavyweight making his way up.

Regardless of the huge weight discrepancy, Paul is serious. Ultimately, a matchup with Davis isn’t fully off the table but it is being put on the shelf for the time being. In all likelihood, Davis and Roach will run things back.

For now, Paul will kick his feet up and watch. If Davis does what he normally does and takes care of business, he’s confident that they’ll meet up down the line.

“It was highly talked about and in negotiations and almost ready to make happen but he has to do his rematch with Lamont and get that W.”
