Jake Paul-Gervonta Davis Off, After Davis' Latest Domestic Violence Allegations
The exhibition match between Jake Paul and Gervonta Davis, scheduled for November 14 at the Kaseya Center in Miami, Florida has been canceled, Paul’s company Most Valuable Promotions announced Monday night.

MVP also announced that plans remain for Paul to headline an event on Netflix before the end of the year.

On Thursday, Courtney Rossel, Davis’ ex-girlfriend, filed a civil lawsuit in Miami-Dade County accusing Davis of aggravated battery, false imprisonment, kidnapping, and intentional infliction of emotional distress.

“Our team has worked closely with all parties to navigate this situation responsibly,” Nakisa Bidarian, CEO of Most Valuable Promotions, said in a statement on Monday.

“While we will not be moving forward with this event, our plan still remains for Jake Paul to headline an event on Netflix in 2025. Details regarding a new date, location, Jake’s opponent, and additional bouts will be shared as soon as they are finalized. We thank Netflix, the Kaseya Center, and the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino for their partnership.”

Jake Paul shared a more scathing message on social media.

"Gervonta Davis is an actual walking human piece of garbage," he wrote. "Working with him is an absolute nightmare. The unprofessionalism, the bizarre requests, the showing up hours late to shoots. To the numerous arrests and related accusations, and lawsuits. If you support this man, you support the most vile sin a man can commit.

"I didn’t want to give this woman abuser a platform to grow his fans and to grow his bank account. My company champions women. I’m so sorry to everyone involved. Mostly to the undercard fighters, to my team at MVP, and to my team who worked so hard prepping for this fight. Sacrificing time with loved ones and kids just for this fool to lose his unintelligent mind again. It’s scary that devilish men like this can rise to the top of culture and sports, including in positions of power.

"I hope you people moving forward look beyond his fake streetwear pieces 'SWAG' and search for something deeper to be a fan of.

"As for me, it’s on to the next one as always. Anyone. Anytime. Any place."

Earlier on Monday, The Ring’s Mike Coppinger reported that Andre Ward, Francis Ngannou, Nate Diaz, Ryan Garcia, and Terence Crawford were among the potential replacement opponents being explored for Paul (12-1, 7 KOs).

On Saturday, MVP released a statement that they immediately initiated an investigation reviewing the allegations, and by Monday, they moved on from the WBA lightweight champion Davis (30-0-1, 28 KOs) following the 30-year-old Baltimore native’s latest run-in with the law.

Rossel alleged Davis took her against her will on October 28 out of Tootsie’s Cabaret, a gentlemen’s club in Miami where she was employed as a VIP cocktail server, dragged her out of the back exit, and into a nearby parking garage, where he assaulted her. Rossel also alleged Davis abused her on several prior occasions during their five-month relationship.

Rossel's lawsuit was filed two months after the mother of Davis’ two children declined to prosecute him following her set of separate domestic violence allegations. The case was dropped in August.
