Former junior lightweight world title challenger
Jack Catterall promised a standout showing on his welterweight debut, though horrendous cuts to him and
Harlem Eubank ended their main event matchup prematurely at Manchester's AO Arena on Saturday night.
Both lamented the stoppage after insisting they were okay to carry on between rounds, though it would've been unsafe allowing the pair to continue. The official ending came at the start of the seventh, referee Bob Williams waving off the contest in an unfortunate anticlimax.
After six completed rounds, Catterall had landed almost three times as many punches (51) than Eubank (17), thrown more than twice more attempts (186-85) and was eventually starting to find a rhythm in a tricky encounter between two contenders with a point to prove.
