Jack Catterall is open to fighting Harlem Eubank in his next outing but must be paid what he's worth, according to the Chorley man's manager Sam Jones.
Catterall (30-2, 13 KOs) was last in action two months ago, losing to Arnold Barboza Jr by split decision at Manchester's Co-Op Live Arena.
Barboza Jr secured the WBO 'interim' junior-welterweight title in the process, as well as a title shot against WBO/Ring 140-pound titleholder Teofimo Lopez at The Ring's Times Square show in New York City on May 2.
Catterall is keeping active and is ready to fill in on that show in case of an injury, according to his promoter Eddie Hearn, but he's also assessing his next fight options.
In steps Eubank (21-0, 9 KOs), who recently told The Ring that he's instructed his team to chase the fight with Catterall, and although Jones labeled the callout 'random', his fighter is ready to step up to the plate, so long as he's paid handsomely.
"I know Harlem has had a meeting with his side, we've had very brief chats about the fight, but the numbers have got to be correct for Jack," Jones told The Ring.
"If we get the numbers that we believe Jack's worth is, then we'll do the fight next, no problem."
Jones made it clear that Eubank isn't the only name on Catterall's mind. 'El Gato' wants to jump straight back into a big fight with both the 140-pound and 147-pound divisions' best.
He added: "We've not really spoken about other opponents, Jack would be open to fighting any big name at 140, 147, it doesn't really matter, but Harlem...it was random how they brought it up to be honest.
"Jack's game to fight him, not a problem. Jack will have to be paid what he's worth. He's the A-side in that fight even though the Eubank name is a big name.
"It's a great fight, I respect Harlem a lot, he's a mate of mine. But business is business, it's a fight I think people would get behind, I think it'd sell well in Manchester. We're open to doing the fight next, not a problem."
Welterweight Eubank is coming off a 10th-round stoppage win over Tyrone McKenna and has been competing on Channel 5 under Wasserman Boxing over the past several years.
If the fight were to take place, however, there's every chance the contest could end up on subscription-based streaming service DAZN.
A Josh Taylor trilogy could also be touted next for Catterall, with that fight an option to land on the next Matchroom vs Queensberry 5v5 card this summer.
