LAS VEGAS — Two of the most prominent figures in boxing media have been brought together to provide their unique takes on the sport each week.
The Ring announced Tuesday that Max Kellerman, a provocative television veteran, and Mike Coppinger, The Ring’s senior insider and broadcast contributor, will co-host “Inside The Ring.”
DAZN will stream the weekly show worldwide.
“Inside The Ring” will premiere Wednesday at 2 p.m. ET and 11 a.m. PT from Las Vegas in advance of the super middleweight showdown between
undisputed champion Canelo Alvarez and Terence Crawford on Saturday night at Allegiant Stadium. DAZN will also stream “Inside The Ring” episodes immediately after the Alvarez-Crawford press conference Thursday and the weigh-in Friday.
Once coverage concludes this fight week, the studio show will be streamed each Monday from Los Angeles, starting September 15. Portions of each episode will become available on The Ring’s YouTube channel after they stream live on DAZN.
Kellerman and Coppinger will be joined regularly by a rotating cast of contributors. “Inside The Ring” will offer breaking news and analysis, interviews with boxing’s biggest names, as well as fight recaps and previews.
“This is the type of show boxing has always needed and never had,” Kellerman said. “The Ring has been the sport’s publication of record for over 100 years, and with the new vision for the brand, it is clearly leading boxing into the future. If you want to be prepared for a blockbuster on the level of Canelo-Crawford, you have to watch this show.”
Kellerman made his name in boxing as an analyst on ESPN2’s “Friday Night Fights” telecasts more than two decades ago. He later became a commentator for HBO’s "World Championship Boxing" broadcasts and one of ESPN’s most knowledgeable talk show hosts on "Sports Nation" and "First Take."
Coppinger has been one of the sport’s top news-breakers and analysts over the past decade for USA Today, The Ring, The Athletic and ESPN.com.
He returned to The Ring in April as a senior insider.“We promise to deliver fans destination viewing each Monday on all things boxing, from inside information to analysis of the weekend’s fights and what’s ahead,” Coppinger said. “The sport has missed Max’s voice. And it’s a thrill to team up with him for this flagship show spearheaded by the iconic brand of The Ring.”
"Inside The Ring" is produced by Omaha Productions, the media company behind ESPN’s live "Monday Night Football with Peyton and Eli" broadcasts, ESPN’s "Places" series and Netflix’s "Quarterback" and "Receiver" docuseries.
“We are thrilled to bring ‘Inside The Ring’ to boxing fans around the world, exclusively on DAZN,” Shay Segev, DAZN Group CEO, said. “This show marks an exciting extension of our partnership with HE Turki Alalshikh and The Ring, while also reinforcing DAZN’s position as the global home of boxing.
"By offering unparalleled access to the world’s most exciting fights and exclusive behind-the-scenes action, DAZN is giving boxing fans everywhere the chance to connect more deeply with the sport they love.”
The show will also have its own dedicated social media handles on Instagram (@
insideringshow), TikTok (@
InsideRingShow), X (@
InsideRingShow) and Facebook (Inside Ring Show) to encourage viewer engagement.
“This isn’t just another boxing show, it’s the dawn of a new era in boxing coverage,” Rick Reeno, The Ring’s CEO, said. “Every week, ‘Inside the Ring’ is bringing fans closer to the action, the stories, and the fighters shaping the sport’s future.”
The Ring, long known as “The Bible Of Boxing,” relaunched its website, resumed printing its bolstered monthly magazine and significantly expanded its reach on various social media platforms since Alalshikh purchased it from
Oscar De La Hoya last fall.
The Ring has also presented three prominent boxing cards since
April 26, once in London for Chris Eubank Jr-Conor Benn and twice in New York. The first was a Times Square card topped by
Ryan Garcia-Rolando-Romero, and the second, headlined by
Edgar Berlanga-Hamzah Sheeraz, took place in Queens.
The publication’s next show “The Ring IV,” will feature
WBC light heavyweight champion David Benavidez and Anthony Yarde in the 12-round main event November 22. DAZN will stream that event from ANB Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia for no additional charge to its subscribers.
Neftlix will stream Alvarez versus Crawford and part of its undercard from the home stadium of the NFL’s Las Vegas Raiders.
Kellerman and Coppinger will be part of Netflix’s broadcast team on fight night as well.
