Heavyweight contender Hughie Fury injured his hand on Thursday of last week, at the very end of his final sparring session for Friday's bout on the GBM Sports card at London's iconic York Hall.
Withdrawing wasn't an option Fury or his father - noted trainer Peter Fury - and they decided to move forward with the scheduled return.
Fury broke down and stopped Dan Garber in five rounds of action. It was Fury's seventh win in a row since losing a decision to Alexander Povetkin in 2019.
"My dad said, God gave you two hands, use the other one. If you can't finish this fight with one hand, you're in the wrong business. So we wrapped the hand as best we could and we got on with the job. Every punch was agony, to be quite honest with you, but you're either a fighter or you're not. I'm a fighter, " said Fury after the fifth-round finish.
