Hayato Tsutsumi vs. Jaime Arboleda Heads Up Martinez-Ioka 2 Undercard on May 11
Earlier today, we learnt that rising junior lightweight Hayato Tsutsumi will face one-time prospect Jaime Arboleda in chief support to the WBA junior bantamweight clash between Fernando Martinez and Kazuto Ioka.

Tsutsumi has impressed in his six fights to date and will face the talented Panamanian over 10-rounds in the Shisei Promotions event will take place at the Ota City General Gymnasium, Tokyo, Japan on May 11.

"This fight will be a crucial step toward a world title match, so I want to put on a performance that makes a strong impact and showcases my abilities to the world," Tsutsumi told The Ring. "I will demonstrate my strength in the ring."

Hugely talented flyweight Daiya Kira (2-0, 2 knockouts) will take on former Venezuelan junior flyweight titlist Jackson Zapata (11-2-2, 9 KOs) in an 8-round contest at flyweight and it will also mark the eagerly anticipated debut of Reito Tsutsumi against an as yet unknown opponent at featherweight.

Tsutsumi (6-0, 3 KOs), who was a standout amateur, winning gold at the 2016 World Youth Championships and represented Japan at the 2021 World Championships, turned professional in 2022.

Big things were expected of Tsutsumi, who won his first two fights, a pair of eight-round contests, before claiming the vacant OPBF featherweight title in just his third fight. He quickly moved to International class and beat faded former WBA bantamweight king Anselmo Moreno (KO 3). However, he missed weight and subsequently banned by the JBC for 6-months. He returned at 130 and stopped iron-jawed former WBA 130-pound beltholder Rene Alvarado (TKO 8).

Arboleda (20-3, 15 KOs) has been a professional since 2014. From a young age, Arboleda was picked out for his talent and after winning his first 10 fights in his native Panama, he came to America but was upset by Recky Dulay (KO 3). After returning home, he reeled off three wins and also grabbed another in Argentina.

It was deemed time for Arboleda to come back to America and he scored two wins, notably beating tough guy Jayson Velez (SD 12). He was stopped by Chris Colbert (TKO 11) and after notching three wins at home, he was ran over by William Zepeda (KO 2). After a near two-year hiatus, "Jaimito" returned last month in Colombia with a win.
