Harlem Eubank Believes He Was 'Done Dirty' In TD Loss To Jack Catterall, Blasts DAZN Commentary
Harlem Eubank has blasted the DAZN commentary team for spreading 'fake news' throughout his fight with Jack Catterall, which ended in a technical decision defeat, last weekend in Manchester.

The clash between Brighton's Eubank (21-1, 9 KOs) and Chorley's Catterall (31-2, 13 KOs), which took place at the AO Arena, ended at the beginning of the seventh round after referee Bob Williams ruled a cut sustained by Catterall, after a clash of heads, too gruesome to carry on fighting with.

Eubank also sustained a cut above his eye and, initially, there was confusion over which of the two fighters' gashes the fight was stopped on, with Catterall's initially deemed safe to continue on with by a ringside doctor, before being overruled by the ref.

It was suggested on commentary that the fight was stopped by Eubank's corner, but post-fight the 31-year-old ruled out that theory entirely, stating that the DAZN broadcast team, made up of Adam Smith, Darren Barker, Sunny Edwards and Carl Frampton, were spreading untrue narratives.

"The commentators were saying it was my corner," Eubank said. "It was clearly his corner. There was a lot of fake news spread during the fight, a lot of narratives. My uncle [Chris Eubank Sr] told me if I come here as the away fighter, I need to take it out of the judges hands, that was the game plan, I was catching him clean towards the later rounds and the referee took it away from my hands, I didn't lose that fight.

"We were up and ready to go. My cut was a minor cut. We were looking at the other corner, my doctor approved everything on my side, we were raring to go. His corner was told he couldn't continue, it was nothing to do with me.

"That was a fake narrative on the commentary, there were so-called independent commentators in his dressing room before the fight and coaching him ringside. I've not experienced something like that. Carl Frampton ... I was a fan of this guy and I feel like I've been done dirty this evening."

The fight was fairly eventful up until the stoppage but it was Catterall who landed the more eye-catching shots throughout while Eubank missed wildly on numerous occasions.

Eubank feels, however, that he was getting to 'El Gato' and it was only a matter of time before he would produce a stoppage.

"I was carrying out the game plan to a T," Eubank added. "I was making him miss and [was going to] make him pay late, if you watch my championship fights, when I take out my opposition, that's exactly how I execute a game plan and the referee took that away from me in not letting Catterall continue.

"This is the go-along to get-along gang, you see it in the commentary, the dressing room, these guys pretending to be friends, sending Conor [Benn] in before the fight ... Jack's a world class operator but all the fighter's scoring the fight ringside had it even and I was just warming up."
