Gervonta Davis: “Y’all Getting The Last Little Bit Of Gervonta That Y’all Gonna See”
There isn’t much that Gervonta Davis can say, or do, that will shock you. We’ve heard him threaten his opponents. We’ve also seen him send them to the hospital. Seeing him step out of the coolest sports cars and wearing thousands of dollars worth of jewelry also isn’t surprising. With that said, what he revealed a few months ago, left nearly everyone speechless.

During a routine press conference to announce his upcoming showdown against Lamont Roach, Davis (30-0, 28 KOs) arbitrarily stated that 2025 will be his final year in the sport. As the months have gone by, Davis has continued to put in the work. With March 1st inching closer and closer, fans are hoping that Davis’ retirement talk would be the furthest thing from his mind.

Recently, however, he revealed that it’s at the forefront.

“Y’all getting the last little bit of Gervonta that y’all gonna see,” said Davis on an episode of Gloves Off: Tank vs Roach.

If Davis is deadset on walking away from this violent game, then fans are hoping that he’ll be involved in some of the biggest fights in the sport. Roach, by and large, doesn’t qualify as such but showdowns against Shakur Stevenson, Devin Haney, and even Teofimo Lopez are matchups that the boxing public has been craving for years.

Davis, to his credit, has expressed interest in making those bouts happen. But he won’t get ahead of himself. Roach might be moving up in weight, but the 29-year-old is a current champion at 130 pounds and Davis has been inactive since scoring an eighth-round stoppage win over Frank Martin in June of 2024.

His future schedule isn’t set in stone just yet but whether it’s Roach, Stevenson, Haney, or anyone else, Davis promises to be the best version of himself until he hangs 'em up.

“I’m a make sure that I do what I’m supposed to so I can be the best that I can.”
