Hall of Fame promoter Frank Warren received the lifetime achievement award at the 2025 Sports Industry Awards in London on Thursday night but declared: "I’m not done yet."
The 73-year-old has established himself as one of history’s most successful promoters over the course of 45 years in the sport and he remains at the heart of the company he founded, Queensberry Promotions.
He has promoted and managed a long list of world champions over the years and his stable currently boasts the likes of IBF world heavyweight champion Daniel Dubois.
Another of his current world champions is Nick Ball and it was the Liverpudlian WBA featherweight king who presented Warren with his award at the glitzy black tie event in west London on Thursday.
“I am truly honoured to receive an award like this,” Warren told The Ring. “It has come out of the blue and is quite a big surprise for me.
“But I’m a bit worried about it to be honest because if you start getting these types of awards it means you must be on the way out!
“But what I can tell you is that I’ve got no intention of hanging them up yet. I’m not done yet and Queensberry are still swinging.
“More seriously, though, this is great for boxing too. It shows a recognition of the work we have done over the years and that is still continuing now.”
For Warren that meant attending the launch press conference for Fabio Wardley against Justis Huni with the promoter’s latest stadium show set for June 7 at Ipswich Town’s Portman Road.
Before that, former undisputed 140lb champion Josh Taylor makes his Queensberry Promotions debut in Glasgow on May 24 in a welterweight fight against Ekow Essuman at the OVO Hydro.
Then on July 19, IBF champion Dubois takes on Ring Magazine champion Oleksandr Usyk Wembley Stadium for all the heavyweight belts. Warren signed Dubois straight from the amateurs back in 2017 after only a handful of senior bouts.
Now, eight years on, if Dubois beats Usyk he would be Warren’s first undisputed world heavyweight champion and perhaps the biggest achievement of the promoter’s Hall of Fame career.
