Frank Martin finally has a date to fight again following his eighth-round knockout loss to
Gervonta Davis in June 2024.
“October 25, I’m back,” Martin revealed on social media.
A source informed of Martin's plans told
The Ring that Martin (18-1, 12 KOs) will make his junior welterweight debut and be featured as the main fight of the non-pay-per-view portion of the PBC on Prime Video show headlined by
Sebastian Fundora’s WBC junior middleweight title defense against Keith Thurman at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Martin's opponent has not yet been announced.
Martin, a 30-year-old southpaw from Indiana, was ranked as The Ring’s No. 8 lightweight earlier this year, but inactivity has since dropped him out of the rankings.
Martin was holding his own against Davis during their lightweight tilt last summer, but Tank started separating himself and closed the gap before landing a devastating left hand that dropped and stopped Martin. Martin was only down a point at the time on all of the cards.
He came into the clash riding a wave of momentum featuring wins against Artem Harutyunyan, Michel Rivera, Jackson Marinez, and Romero Duno over 18 months from 2022 to 2023, and now, he'll look to start a new run in a new division next month.
