Fisher-Allen 2 Likely In May, Hearn Confirms Immediate Rematch Plans
Johnny Fisher is set to head into an immediate rematch against Dave Allen with a May date most likely.

The Romford Bull won a controversial split decision after their 10-round clash in Riyadh last month on the undercard of Oleksandr Usyk's UD12 victory during a rematch of his own with Tyson Fury for RING/unified world heavyweight titles.

Fisher perforated his eardrum during the fight and was dropped in the fifth round, his first visit to the canvas as a professional.

Given the close nature of the contest, it has been suggested that 32-year-old Allen, who refused to label the decision a robbery, deserves an immediate rematch.

And now Fisher’s promoter Eddie Hearn has confirmed that his plan is to arrange an immediate return, although the heavyweight’s injury is still yet to heal fully, preventing an outing until May at the earliest.

Hearn said: “We want Johnny to rematch Dave Allen next. He perforated his ear drum and it’s still quite bruised. He won’t be able to train until mid-to-late February so then will box again probably in May.

“I’d like him to go straight into the rematch and I think he would too.”

As a result of the victory, Fisher’s third of 2024, the 25-year-old is now 13-0 with 11 KOs and is ranked in the top 15 with two of the four world sanctioning bodies.
