Talented Cuban cruiserweight
Lenar Perez has signed promotional forms with Eye of The Tiger.
The Canadian-based outfit brokered a deal to add the unbeaten fighter to their burgeoning stable.
"I'm very happy to sign Perez, he's one of the hottest prospects in the world," EOTT president Camille Estephan told
The Ring. "He can do massive things in the cruiserweight division. We'll see how he develops, but certainly feel his upside is absolutely massive."
Meanwhile, the promotion's director of development Mark Ramsay believes Perez will soon make a big impression at cruiserweight.
"Lenar is a boxer who had an excellent amateur career and comes from the outstanding Cuban boxing school," Ramsay said. "With already 15 victories and 14 by knockout, Quebec boxing fans will be able to discover him soon, as he's already ready for major challenges."
Details of Perez's first fight under the Eye of The Tiger banner were not announced at the time of publication, though it's likely he'll make his debut in early 2026.
Perez won two Cuban Under-19 titles and finished third place in their senior national championships in 2017. During a productive amateur career, Perez bested 2008 Olympic silver medallist Emiliano Correa Jr. and highly rated heavyweight
Dainier Pero.
The 27-year-old Perez's performances caught the attention of the Russians and many of his first 10 professional fights took place across Russia or former Soviet countries.
Perez is the WBA's No. 3-rated contender, ranked No. 14 with the IBF, and most recently scored a 10-round split decision win over former world title challenger
Aleksei Egorov in Bosnia back on April 27.
