Former lightweight title challenger
Edwin De Los Santos finally has a plan to resume his career.
De Los Santos (16-2, 14 KOs) will fight for the first time in 25 months when he returns for a homecoming bout on December 13 in the Dominican Republic against an opponent still to be determined.
The show will be staged by BiYu Promotions and Shuan Boxing Promotion at the Coliseo de Boxeo Carlos Teo Cruz in Santo Domingo.
De Los Santos hasn't fought since November of 2023, when he suffered a unanimous decision defeat in a dull fight against Shakur Stevenson for the vacant WBC 135-pound title.
De Los Santos was supposed to fight
Keyshawn Davis for the WBO lightweight title in July, but Davis failed to make weight, lost the title on the scale, and De Los Santos and his team could not reach an 11th-hour deal to salvage the fight.
Following the fallout, De Los Santos separated from his promoter, Sampson Lewkowicz, and signed a managerial agreement with Fighters First Management.
De Los Santos, a 26-year-old southpaw, will now look to regain momentum in a career that has stalled since he stunned then-unbeaten
Jose Valenzuela with a third-round knockout in 2022.
