Devin Haney Angles For 147-Pound Unification With IBF Champion Lewis Crocker
Devin Haney wants to keep adding to his championship hardware.

A few weeks after dethroning Brian Norman for his WBO welterweight title, Bill Haney, his father and trainer, told Eddie Hearn his next move.

“He wants to fight Lewis Crocker, our welterweight champion. It’s a unification fight,” Hearn told several reporters.

In a career filled with big-time wins, arguably none is bigger than his triumph over Norman on November 22 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. For the first time as a pro, Haney (33-0, 15 KOs) was the underdog.

However, none of that mattered as he dropped Norman (28-1, 22 KOs) in the second round before winning a unanimous decision to begin a championship reign in his third division.

According to Hearn, becoming a unified champion is front of mind.

Crocker won his first world title recently, taking a split decision over Paddy Donovan on September 13 for the vacant IBF belt. In what was viewed as a 50/50 fight, Crocker (22-0, 11 KOs) dropped him twice. The 28-year-old hasn’t revealed his future plans, but he did mention wanting big fights and that included Conor Benn.

Hearn appears to be on the same page. After watching Benn (24-1, 14 KOs) score a recent win against Chris Eubank at middleweight, the longtime promoter is attempting to position him for a world title shot at 147 pounds.

Benn will likely find himself in a title bout in 2026 after the WBC recently made him the welterweight mandatory challenger.

Hearn is closely monitoring everything and is also pondering Haney vs. Crocker next.

“We’ll see,” he said. “We’re not against the idea.”
