Derek Chisora On Otto Wallin: I Hate Southpaws But I'm Gonna Smoke That Motherf----r
Derek Chisora knows what he has to do when he faces Otto Wallin in his 'Last Dance' fight at the Co-Op Live Arena in Manchester on Saturday night.

'Del Boy' or 'War' as he's known, is looking to bring down the curtain on his fighting career in the UK against Wallin (27-2, 1 NC, 15 KOs) in his 49th professional bout. A 50th might be scheduled at some point down the road but Chisora (35-13, 23 KOs) seems sure this is his last on British soil.

The fight will be streamed live on TNT Sports in the UK.

He's been his typical self this fight week; producing the usual sound bites, pitting fans against each other in press-up competitions in exchange for ringside tickets, promising blood and thunder in the ring.

Chisora, however, takes on a very competent opponent in Wallin on Saturday, and from the southpaw stance could cause the 41-year-old some awkward issues to solve.

The former British heavyweight champion has openly admitted previously he struggles with southpaws, and they've made for some ugly affairs in the past, not least his 10-round points win over left-hander Senad Gashi in 2019. So the decision to select Wallin has been pegged as a strange one.

Chisora told a media scrum on Wednesday evening: "I hate southpaws, the guy who's beaten us about four times in the United Kingdom Oleksandr Usyk [is a southpaw]. I hate southpaws, but I'm gonna have to deal with it either way.

"The only way he can win this fight is by him knocking me out, but he hasn't got that dog in him. I'm not in the mood yet because I don't want to waste energy, but tomorrow you'll see a different character."

Chisora went into his last fight with Joe Joyce (16-3, 15 KOs) as the underdog and came out with the win, flooring the Juggernaut midway through the contest.

He went about that fight in the typical Chisora style: kill or be killed. On the front foot from minute one until minute 30 or 36.

And he knows he'll have to do the same against Wallin, who has fought once since his sobering fifth-round stoppage loss at the hands of Anthony Joshua in December 2023.

Chisora added: "I love fighting, Otto knows I'm nuts. People know I'm crazy, when I tell you stuff I really mean it. I really mean it when I tell you something.

"I'm gonna break him. I'm gonna break his heart, I'm gonna break him mentally. I'm telling you right now, I'm gonna break that guy. I'm gonna smoke that mother----r.

"But one thing I'd say to all fighters is don't hate. Don't get in the ring upset, or you'll lose focus. I wanna physically hurt that man, but I don't hate him. That's what I'm gonna do on Saturday night."
