Defiant Lamont Roach Tells Gervonta Davis After Making Weight To ‘Bring A Pillow’ To Barclays Center On Saturday Night
Lamont Roach suggested Gervonta Davis “bring a pillow” when Davis promised his rival on stage Friday afternoon that the powerful southpaw will stop Roach on Saturday night in their pay-per-view main event at Barclays Center in Brooklyn.

“[Fans will learn] that I’m one of the best fighters in the world,” Roach told Premier Boxing Champions’ Miguel Flores after he made weight. “Can’t wait for y’all to see it. That’s all I got to say.”

Davis called Roach “a frontrunner” who was “showing off” for his supporters at Barclays Center.

Moments earlier, Davis stepped on the New York State Athletic Commission’s scale at 133.8 pounds, more than a pound below his division’s maximum allowance. Roach weighed in at exactly the lightweight limit of 135 pounds.

They’ll fight for Davis’ WBA lightweight title. Roach owns the WBA super featherweight crown, but that 130-pound championship won’t be at stake in the main event of a four-fight PBC/Prime Video pay-per-view show at the home arena of the NBA’s Brooklyn Nets.

Davis, 30, entered their weigh-in as a 16-1 favorite over Roach, 29, according to DraftKings sportsbook.

Roach (25-1-1, 10 KOs), of Upper Marlboro, Maryland, contends that the odds are entirely too lopsided because he is the best boxer Baltimore’s Davis (30-0, 28 KOs) will have faced by early Sunday morning. They are very familiar with each other from their amateur days, when Davis defeated Roach twice on points and they sparred against each other regularly.

The official weights for the televised and/or streamed fights on the Davis-Roach undercard are listed below.
