David Benavidez vs. Anthony Yarde: What are their best wins?
David Benavidez and Anthony Yarde have 57 wins between them - and 48 of them have come inside the distance.

The pair meet in the main event of "The Ring IV: Night of the Champions" on Saturday night at ANB Arena, Riyadh, where Benavidez’s WBC light-heavyweight title will be on the line against the two-time world title challenger from London.

Ahead of the clash, which will be shown live on DAZN PPV, we take a look at the best wins for each man, ranked in descending chronological order.

DAVID BENAVIDEZ

Oleksandr Gvozdyk, 15/6/2024, MGM Grand Garden Arena, Las Vegas - UD 12

After 10 years as a super middleweight, Benavidez decided to make his move up to light heavy. But he would not get an easy touch in his first outing at the new weight, instead taking on ‘The Nail’ Gvozdyk for the WBC interim belt. The Ukrainian’s only previous defeat had come against Artur Beterbiev but he had no answer for the skills of Benavidez, who cruised to a unanimous decision victory, with one judge, Don Trella, scoring him a winner to the tune of 119-109 at the MGM Grand.

Demetrius Andrade, 25/11/2023, Michelob Ultra Arena, Las Vegas - RTD 6

This was one of Benavidez’s most thrilling performances to date and he did it against an undefeated two-weight world champion in Demetrius Andrade. The man from Rhode Island is currently the hardest man to hit in boxing, as he takes on average just 6.2 punches per round, but Benavidez had little trouble finding the target. Over the course of their six completed rounds, he landed 117 times, dropping him in the fourth, before Andrade’s corner pulled their man out before the start of the seventh.

Anthony Dirrell, 28/9/2019, Staples Center, Los Angeles - KO 9

Before Benavidez faced defending champion Anthony Dirrell in 2019, there were some who thought the opportunity might have come too soon for the youngster. But he would not be denied against The Dog from Flint Michigan, opening up a cut on his opponent with a legal punch in the sixth round. The beating continued until the ninth when Dirrell’s corner pulled their man out handing Benavidez the win and the world title on cuts.

ANTHONY YARDE

Lyndon Arthur, 26/4/2025, Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, London - UD12

Although this was not Yarde at his most explosive best, it was a crucial hard-fought win in the rubber match against Arthur. Both men knew that victory at Spurs would propel them towards a world title fight while the loser might never get another chance. On the night, it was Yarde who best handled the pressure to control the majority of this fight and win on all three cards.

Lyndon Arthur, 4/12/2021, Copper Box, London - KO 4

While that second victory over Arthur was all about patience and resilience, this revenge mission against the Manchester man three and a half years earlier was a showcase of his ruthless power. Still frustrated that Arthur had beaten him in their first fight, Yarde was leaving nothing to chance at the Copper Box, dismantling Arthur inside four rounds and stopping the fight via a right hand to the head.

Nikola Sjekloca, 9/12/2017, Copper Box, London - TKO 4

Given he had gone the distance with Arthur Abraham, Callum Smith and Sakio Bika, Serbia-born Montenegrin Sjekloca was supposed to provide rising star Yarde with some rounds when they met in late 2017. But the Londoner had different ideas, dropping his more experienced opponent in the second before closing the show in the fourth. It remains the former world title challenger’s only inside-distance defeat.

The Ring IV: Night of the Champions takes place on Saturday, November 22 and will stream live on DAZN PPV from 3 p.m. ET / 8 p.m. GMT (UK: £24.99; US: $59.99).
