Moses Itauma isn't the sort of heavyweight that many aren't anxious to jump in the ring with.
The 20-year-old contender is fast, strong, powerful, and is on a violent run, which includes a
first-round knockout win over former WBC interim champion Dillian Whyte.
David Adeleye however, doesn't care how many bodies Itauma has put in the dirt. If the two agreed on terms, he would jump at the opportunity to mix it up with him.
"I don't mind," Adeleye told Boxing News when asked if he would fight his Queensberry stablemate Itauma. "It goes back to what the manager, agents, and lawyers say."
Somehow, someway, if Itauma (13-0, 11 KOs) were next up for Adeleye (14-2, 13 KOs), he would be going from one monster to another. The fringe contender is coming off an
August 16 wide points defeat to Filip Hrgovic at ANB Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
The goal for Adeleye now is to rebuild his name and reputation. Although his next bout has been kept under wraps, the hard-hitting Londoner
is slated to return on December 19 against a yet-to-be-determined opponent in Lagos, Nigeria, his fatherland.
Still regardless of what’s next, Itauma isn’t the likely play. He’s currently ranked No. 1 in the WBO and as confirmed by the sanctioning body's president Gustavo Olivieri,
may be ordered to face interim beltholder Fabio Wardley next.
For now, Adeleye will play the waiting game. But while he continues to wait and see who his team selects for his next outing, he's made it clear that he doesn't care if it's Itauma, King Kong, or Godzilla. The answer will remain the same.
"I would say yes to anybody," Adeleye continued.
