Dave Allen, Johnny Fisher Promise Fireworks After Piling On Pounds Ahead Of Copper Box Rematch
LONDON, England - Dave Allen came in 7.5lbs heavier than he was for his initial encounter with Johnny Fisher 147 days ago before revealing he is planning on an early finish at the Copper Box.

The White Rhino from Doncaster weighed in at 265lbs, which was the second heaviest of his career and a weight only eclipsed by the 272lbs he was when he faced Dave Howe over four rounds way back in 2018.

Fisher was also noticeably heavier as he scaled a career-heaviest 245.5lbs, which was 3.5lbs up from the first fight with Allen, which took place at the Kingdom Arena, Riyadh on December 21.

That night ended in controversy as Fisher, who was dropped in the fifth round and failed to hurt Allen over the course of their 10 rounds, claimed a razor-tight split decision.

Now 33-year-old Allen has come in heavy, he says, in a bid to ensure the judges are not needed at a sold-out Copper Box Arena Saturday night.

“I’m in very, very good condition,” Allen said. “I’m here to do a job and I’m here to do it as early as possible.”

Fisher, who was roared on by a noisy crowd at the Genesis Cinema at Friday’s weigh-in, replied: “It’s not about what he wants to do it’s about what I want to do - and that’s win at all costs. I’ve been training very hard. It’s going to be epic.”

Both Kieron Conway and Gerome Warburton came in comfortably below the middleweight limit for their fight for the vacant British title. Northampton man Conway was 159.7lbs while ‘The Bread Maker’ Warburton was 158.8lbs.

Then, in an eliminator for that same title, George Liddard came in at 159.4lbs while his opponent Aaron Sutton or Bristol had to strip naked in order to scale 159.9lbs.

There were no such problems making weight for two other middleweights, Jimmy Sains and Gideon Onyenani, ahead of their clash for the vacant southern area title. Sains was 159.4lbs while Onyenani was a pound less at 158.4lbs.

In the card’s English cruiserweight title fight, John Hedges successfully made weight at 199.8lbs while his opponent Nathan Quarless weighed 198.8lbs ahead of their 10-rounder.
