Daniel Dubois Aims For All The Big Names: I Want To Fight Them All
IBF heavyweight champion, Daniel Dubois, has recovered from the illness that forced him to withdraw from last month’s proposed title defence against Joseph Parker and is ready to get back to business.

From the outside, it appears that he and unified WBC, WBA, WBO and Ring Magazine champion, Oleksandr Usyk, only have eyes for each other and an undisputed heavyweight title rematch this summer.

The pair first met in August 2023 with Usyk stopping Dubois in the eighth round. Earlier in the bout, Usyk dropped to the canvas after absorbing a heavy shot to the midsection. Referee, Luis Pabon, ruled the borderline shot to have strayed low and gave Usyk several minutes to recover.

As well as giving giving Dubois, 22-2 (21 KOs) the chance to right a perceived wrong, a rematch would provide Usyk, 23-0 (14 KOs), with the opportunity to prove his superiority once and for all.

There are, as per usual, complications.

In recent weeks, the WBO have ordered Usyk to begin negotiations with WBO interim champion, Parker, and the IBF announced that, on April 22nd, Dubois will be called to make a mandatory defence of his title against Derek Chisora.

Dubois hasn’t boxed since knocking out former two-time unified heavyweight champion, Anthony Joshua, at Wembley Stadium last September and there continues to be speculation - albeit diminishing - that Joshua may still be interested in redressing the balance in a rematch. The shadow of in-form New Zealander, Parker, also continues to loom large.

The 27 year-old Londoner is spoilt for options but told TalkSport that he isn’t bothered who he eventually ends up getting into the ring with. He just wants to fight.

“I want to fight them all,” he said.

“I want to fight Parker definitely and hopefully Turki [Alalshikh, the head of Riyadh Season and chairman of Saudi Arabia’s General Entertainment Authority] might hear this and make it happen in England, make it happen in Wembley or something.

"I definitely want to fight Parker. That’s unfinished business for me and if not Parker, Usyk or AJ. These are the guys I want next.”

Dubois should have a name to focus his attention on soon. He is back in the gym and already has a date pencilled in for his return.

“I’ve heard I'll be out in July and there's a date for in July for me so which one of them they're going to get from me I don't know, I don't really care,” he said.

“I just want to put someone to sleep again and get back out there and show the people that I’m the man."
