Crawford Feels Spence's Credentials Aren't Strong Enough To Make The Hall Of Fame
Terence Crawford and Errol Spence Jr. will be linked forever.

Back in 2023, the two, after years of going back and forth, finally put their differences aside and agreed to get it on. With Crawford holding the welterweight divisions WBO title and Spence in possession of the remaining three major belts, their undisputed showdown was one that the world wanted to see.

Ultimately though, despite practically everyone believing that it could go either way, Crawford (41-0, 31 KOs) dominated from the beginning before eventually stopping his man in the ninth. Since then, Spence has been both out of sight and out of mind. Will he return? Nobody knows, but according to Crawford, he needs to if he wants to strengthen his chances at making boxing’s version of heaven.

“I can retire right now and be in the Hall of Fame,” said Crawford on Pound 4 Pound with Kamaru & Henry. “He can’t. Everything that I’ve accomplished, he’s still trying to accomplish.”

Things have gone downhill for Spence (28-1, 22 KOs) over the last few years. Immediately following his loss, he was taken to court by now ex-trainer, Derrick James. Spence has flirted with the idea of placing Stephen “Breadman” Edwards or Roy Jones Jr. in his corner but so far, those talks haven’t progressed. Also, the former unified champ teased a move to 154 pounds, claiming that the extra weight would make him feel like a brand new man. Still, fans are waiting.

As Crawford sifts through Spence’s resume, all he can do is shake his head in disapproval. His career has been far from disappointing but the Hall of Fame is the land of the great, not, from Crawford’s point of view, the land of the very good.

“He fought in one division, they already called him a weight bully. I honestly don’t know if he makes it to the Hall of Fame with the accolades he has right now.”
