Conor Benn: Top Five Wins
Conor Benn is just days away from fighting Chris Eubank Jr in what will be the biggest clash of his career yet at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on The Ring's Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves card - live on DAZN PPV.

Ahead of the pair's much-anticipated battle, which has kept the Eubank-Benn family feud rattling into its fourth decade, we take a look at the best five wins of Benn's 23-0 (14) career.

Chris van Heerden, 16/4/22, Manchester Arena, Manchester - TKO 2

The last bout of Benn's 21-fight run as a welterweight, The Destroyer fought former IBO champion Van Heerden, a former opponent of both Errol Spence Jr and Jaron Ennis, in Manchester. Benn made quick work of the South African, stopping him in just two rounds, six less than it took Spence Jr to do so. Three months later, his originally-scheduled bout with Eubank Jr was announced, and the course of his career changed forever.

Chris Algieri, 4/9/21, M&S Bank Arena, Liverpool - KO4

The only fighter on Benn's resume to have held a world title, Algieri came into the bout off the back of four straight wins, and had been 12 rounds with both Amir Khan and Manny Pacquiao years earlier. None of that mattered to Benn, who landed a howitzer of a right hand on the New Yorker's chin to knock him out in the fourth round at Liverpool's M&S Bank Arena.

Samuel Vargas, 10/4/21, Copper Box Arena, London - TKO1

Canadian-Colombian Vargas came into his bout with Benn full of confidence, having been in the ring with Spence Jr, Khan, Danny Garcia and Vergil Ortiz previously. The fight took place in Matchroom's Covid bubble and was done in 80 seconds after Benn launched a vicious offensive onslaught which gave referee Michael Alexander no choice but to step in and end proceedings early. Following the win, belief in Benn's ability to become Britain's next star began to pick up momentum.

Sebastian Formella, 21/11/20, Wembley Arena, London - UD10

Arguably the fight which put Benn on the map at 147 pounds, Benn dominated and out-pointed German Formella across 10 rounds in his first fight for over a year. Much was made of the fact Formella had gone the distance with former world champion Shawn Porter three months earlier, and though Benn also failed to get the stoppage, his emotional pre-fight interviews and attacking display on the night garnered plaudits from the British boxing public.

Cedrick Peynaud, 28/7/18, o2 Arena, London - UD10

While it's the lowest profile win on this list, it's one of Benn's most important victories. Peynaud had dropped Benn twice in their first encounter six months earlier and, though he was put down twice himself, was unlucky to leave York Hall without having his hand raised. The rematch, which took place on the Dillian Whyte-Joseph Parker undercard, was conclusive, however, as Benn scored three knockdowns on Peynaud en route to a comfortable, wide 10-round unanimous decision victory.
